Successful Recruitment for the CUV105 Study
We are pleased to share that 43 patients have been successfully recruited into the CUV105 Vitiligo Study at our Catford site. This milestone reflects the dedication of our team and the trust of participants who have chosen to be part of this important research.
As we round up the initial phase, we are preparing to open the extension phase of the study in early October 2025, offering continued access to innovative treatment and further contributing to the advancement of vitiligo care.
Patient Survey: Living with Vitiligo in the Summer Months
Alongside our research, we recently conducted a patient experience survey to better understand the day-to-day challenges faced by individuals with vitiligo. Here are some highlights:
- Managing in the Summer: Patients expressed the need to be extra cautious in the sun, with many reporting the use of high-factor sunscreen (SPF 50+) as a key coping strategy.
- Travel Challenges: Several participants highlighted concerns about spreading or worsening of vitiligo patches during holidays, emphasising the need for regular monitoring and skin protection.
- Cultural Influences: Travel destinations were often chosen based on family and cultural ties, particularly during the summer holiday period.
- Personal Stories: Many described the importance of vigilance against sunburn, with one participant noting: “I always go out with sunscreen and remain watchful of any changes.”
These insights help us appreciate the lived experiences of our participants and inform how we support them throughout the study journey.
